Subdivided (Carl d l) is a drum & bass DJ and producer whose roots run deep in London's pirate radio and early rave culture. Driven entirely by a love for the music, he merges underground grit with serious technical pedigree.
Armed with a BA (Hons) in Sound Engineering & Music Tech, his studio workflow in Ableton Live 12 is surgical. By relying on a select arsenal of advanced processing tools to keep the transients sharp and the low-end immaculately clean, he engineers sub-rattling rollers that dominate the dancefloor.
From training and engineering in commercial recording facilities to building out a dedicated home lab, the goal has always been uncompromising sound. The current setup is where the studio experience collide with a pure passion for drum & bass. It’s all about taking the learnings—the surgical precision, the discipline, and the heavy processing—and applying them straight to the underground sound. Whether dialing in the low-end or exploring wild new tech, the room is built to bring joy.
